SJA Water Polo Splashball

 

 

Introduction to water polo for boys and girls ages 5 – 9. The children will be provided basic skills and understanding of water polo in a fun, recreational format.

 

 

Splashball harnesses all the fun, dynamic aspects of the game in a safe, easy to learn aquatic experience that aims to motivate kids to enjoy swimming and playing water polo. Enjoy the joys of a rapidly growing sport. The kids will learn basics in ball handling, passing, and shooting with age appropriate size 1 ball, all while improving swimming. The kids will use inflatable cages to play.

Start date:  Week of June 8th

When:  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 – 4:00 pm

Where:  Leland High School Pool

End Date:  Week of July 15th

Cost:  $75

*Also need to register for USA Water Polo Bronze membership for $40 at usawaterpolo.org. USA Water Polo membership is a yearly fee.

Head coach:  Eric Rise, Leland Girls Varsity Head Coach since 2003, 4 time CIF-CCS champions. There will be two coaches, as well as high school varsity level players with championship level experience to assist in developing the skills of each splashball player. This will create a lower player to coach ratio,  keeping the experience fun, safe and more individualized.
