SJA Spring 2018 Season!
Registration Now Open!
SJA Water Polo is excited to announce our Spring 2018 Season! Practices start Monday, February 26!
We just concluded a very successful Winter Season. Our teams had very successful campaigns, gaining valuable game experience and challenging themselves against some great competition. Most importantly, we were excited to see how much the players and teams improved during the course of the season. Congratulations, and onward!
We appreciate your patience waiting for Spring information. As most of you know, we have been dealing with pool time issues, waiting for the repair work to be completed at Leland HS pool. For this reason, we were delayed in setting our schedules for Spring. We will start Spring on February 26, and conclude April 22. For the month of March, we will be using nearby pools, and be moving back (for most practices) to Leland HS (hopefully) by the end of March.
Spring Season is about improving individual skills and continuing to build team chemistry, with an eye on Summer 2018 Season, where our coaches believe we have several teams across all age groups that have a great shot at qualifying and excelling at the USA Water Polo Junior Olympics. The practice and tournament schedule is lighter, particularly for our high school groups since most players participate in their High School swim teams (our coaches highly recommend it!).
It’s important to note that our club always welcomes new players. This includes beginners!
One of the most gratifying developments we’ve seen in the past few seasons is seeing players just starting with the sport rapidly becoming strong players. Water Polo is one of the fastest growing sports in our area, and we’re thrilled to continue bringing together players across Almaden Valley and nearby communities. Our excellent coaching staff focuses on teaching the game, helping our players improve, building strong team chemistry/camaraderie and most importantly, having fun!
We do not hold evaluation sessions for Spring. Please sign up with the same age group you were in for Winter Season. If you are new, please sign up in the age group that matches your child’s “USA Water Polo age”: your age as of August 1, 2018.
For Spring, we will offer one high school boys practice group, an 18U HS Girls group, a 16U/14U Advanced Girls Group, a 14U Boys group, a 13U Girls group, and a 12U Boys Group. Our 10Us and any age group beginners 14 years or younger should sign up for either the 12U boys or 13U Girls groups. You can view the practice schedule HERE!
Spring fees are:
- HS Boys, 18U Girls, 16U/14U Advanced Boys, 14U Boys: $225.
- 13U Girls and 12U Boys: $200.
Paying for more than one player? You can submit the full fee price or separate payment for each athlete. Key instruction: Enter in the amount, and make sure you click “update” below that field. This will populate the actual amount for charge.
We are asking everyone to get their registrations in by Sunday, February 25. Please sign up now by clicking on “How to Register”!
See you at the pool!
